IRBIL, March 4 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Minister of Education Mohammad Al-Saidali Saturday thanked Kuwait for supporting educational services inside Nineveh in general, and displaced in Kurdistan province in particular.
Al-Saidali was speaking to KUNA during a visit to the Consulate in Irbil, where he met with Consul General Dr. Omar Al-Kandari.
His meet with Al-Kandari aimed at following up Kuwaiti-funded educational projects in Nineveh, he said.
Al-Saidali said Kuwait has offered huge support like through construction of schools and furnishing them, as well as providing stationery.
The Kuwaiti support left deep impact among the people of Nineveh, he said.
He said they discussed methods of addressing humanitarian needs in Nineveh, and added he was confident the Kuwaiti support would continue.
Waheed Fareed, representing the Education Ministry in the provincial government of Iraq's Kurdistan, told KUNA Kuwait has been offering relentless support for education services for the displaced students in Kurdistan.
Speaking to KUNA, Fareed said the support of Kuwait prevented disruption of education to displaced students.
Kuwait opened few days ago Kuwait School for the displaced Iraqis in Irbil.
State of Kuwait also built five schools for the displaced, as well as distributed around 30,000 school bags, stationery and classes' furniture. (end) sbr.bs
