Kuwaiti embassies mark national festivals

KUWAIT, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions abroad continued Sunday celebrations marking the 56th anniversary of the National Day, 26th anniversary of the Liberation Day, and 11th anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's assumption of power.
The national celebrations were mainly organized by the Kuwaiti embassies and consulates in Tanzania, Cyprus, Vietnam and Frankfurt.
In Tanzania, Kuwaiti Ambassador Jassem Al-Najem threw a party to mark Kuwait's national celebrations, congratulating the country's leadership, government and people on the occasion.
The party was attended by many Tanzanian figures, including former and current officials, who lauded Kuwait's pioneering role in supporting their country's development projects.
In Nicosia, Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cyprus Ahmad Al-Kandari organized a celebration on the occasion of Kuwait's national festivals, according to a statement by the Kuwaiti embassy there.
Tanzanian officials, members of parliament, politicians and religious and intellectual dignitaries as well as chiefs of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions were present at the ceremony, it said.
During the event, the Kuwaiti ambassador highly commended the level of developed and firm cooperative relations between the State of Kuwait and Cyprus in various domains.
Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides addressed the ceremony by voicing sincere congratulations to His Highness the Amir and Kuwait's government and people on the occasion of national festivals.
He lauded deep and strong relations between Kuwait and Cyprus in political, economic and trade relations, while appreciating Kuwait's pioneering role in maintaining regional security and stability.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Kuwaiti Consulate held a celebration on the occasion of the country's national days.
Speaking at the event, Kuwaiti Consul Khaled Al-Mutairi underlined deep bonds between the State of Kuwait and Vietnam.
He said trade and investment relations between both countries are being increasingly developed and consolidated.
Several Vietnamese officials and dignitaries were present at the Kuwaiti consulate's national celebration, the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City said in a statement.
In Frankfurt in central Germany, a reception was organized by the Kuwaiti Consulate to mark Kuwait's current national celebrations.
Addressing the reception, which attracted a number of German former and current officials and public figures, Kuwaiti Consul in Frankfurt Dherar Al-Tuwaijri used this opportunity to congratulate the Kuwaiti leadership on the occasion of national festivals.
He wished his nation everlasting stability, progress and prosperity, while hailing Kuwaiti-German cooperative relations.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Mohammad Al-Thuwaikh was congratulated by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi on the occasion of his country's national celebrations.
This came during a reception by the Kuwaiti ambassador for Egyptian Presidential Envoy Abdel-Aziz Al-Sharif at the Kuwaiti Embassy in the Egyptian capital. (end) fs.ams.mt
