DOHA, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- An Egyptian photographer presented The Kuwaiti embassy in Doha with a collection of rare photos of late leaders of Kuwait.
Speaking to KUNA, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Qatar, Hafeeth Al-Ajmi thanked photographer Amr Hafeth Diab for this gesture, which displayed his true feelings towards the Kuwaiti leadership and people.
The collection, from the 1950s and 1960s, includes rare photos of late Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah with Saudi King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the late Father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, former Presidents of Egypt Gamal Abdel Nasser, Anwar Sadat, and Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The collection had a photo of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah delivering a speech the third Arab summit in 1964.
On his part, Diab said that he had found these photos while searching the collection of his grandfather Hassan Diab.
The photographer said that presenting the photos during the occasion of Kuwait's 56th National Day, 26th Liberation Anniversary, and 11th Anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah's assumption of post was one of the highlights of his career.
He wished the Kuwaiti leadership and people the best during their national celebrations, and hoped that the occasions will return for many years to come. (end) nnd.gta
