KUWAIT, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has been eager to organize events and activities aiming to help needy families and orphans, said KRCS Secretary General Maha Al-Barjas.
This came in Al-Barjas' statement to KUNA during a festival organized on Monday at the headquarters of KRCS on the occasion of celebrations of national days.
"During the festival some entertainment and artistic shows were presented to more than 500 orphan children, and some gifts were distributed to them, with the aim of making them happy," she added.
She lauded efforts of donors who contributed to alleviating suffering of needy families and orphans.
The main aim of KRCS is to provide aid and social care to people who are in dire need, she noted.
Meanwhile, Maryam Al-Adsani, KRCS' head of aid department, said in a similar statement to KUNA that the festival is held as part of the society's permanent commitment to helping the needy and involving them in celebrations of national days.
She urged Kuwaiti donors to support humanitarian action held by KRCS in favor of such people. (end) akh.msa.hm
