KUWAIT, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Wednesday won the gold medal in the men's shooting skeet category, held as part of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Sixth International Shooting Tournament.

Zaid Al-Mutairi, Saud Habib and Nasser Al-Deihani came first beating Qatari counterparts, who won the silver medal. The Saudi team came third, bagging the bronze medal.
In individuals' skeet, UAE's Saif Bin Ftais came first, ahead of Habib, while the latter's fellow Kuwaiti shooter Al-Mutairi came third.
Tunisian women Noura Al-Nasri, Ulfa Charli and Inas Al-Salhi won the gold in the air gun (10-m) competition, with 1,105 points, followed by the Bahraini team, 1,099 points.
Kuwaiti female champions Israa Bahman, Azari Qurban and Huthama Al-Baghli ranked third, 1,080 points.
In the individuals in the same competition, Wafaa Khamees won the gold medal, 4,197 points, Moza Ali of Bahrain took the bronze, 2,199, Samira Batania of Jordan ranked third, 1,172.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Jordanian Shooting Federation, Ghassan Shaaban, praised in remarks to KUNA the good organization of the sports event. He also voiced satisfaction at the high-level performance of the contending shooters. (end) fsa.rk
