KUWAIT, Jan 31 (KUNA) -- The Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah stressed Tuesday his willingness to clarify all facts regarding axes of the grilling motion directed to him by three MPs.
"I am willing to step up to the podium in confidence to clarify all facts despite my reservation on the motion's obscurity and contradiction to the constitution, Parliament's bylaws, and constitutional court's declaratory judgement No. 101," Sheikh Salman stated prior to the start of the grilling.
The interpellation of Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah began earlier with the motion being submitted by three MPs.
The motion revolves around the causes behind the international suspension of Kuwaiti sports activities, waste of public funds, financial and administrative violations at the Ministry of Information and National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letter (NCCAL), as well as accusations of violating the freedom of press.
The motion was submitted on January 15th in accordance with article 100 from the Kuwaiti constitution which states that every member of the National Assembly may address to the Prime Minister and to Ministers interpellations in regard to matters falling within their jurisdictions.
