KUWAIT, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has organized Wednesday a trip to Cuba for Kuwaiti outstanding and high-achieving high school students.
The journey is part of KFAED's reward for outstanding male and female students to inspire and encourage other pupils to achieve higher educational grades and levels, Ahmad Al-Sarraf, director of the journalism department of KFAED's media sector, told KUNA.
It is also the eighth round of KFAED's "be among the outstanding ones" tour, lasting until January 29, which aims at recognizing Kuwait's role in the development of communities and developing countries around the world, in addition to highlighting the country's status on regional and international levels, Al-Sarraf, who is also the trip added.
Such trips contribute in enhancing students' skills in research and knowledge, in addition to helping them on discovering their own abilities, self-dependency, assuming their responsibilities, realizing teamwork's importance, and appreciating the significance of communication and openness to the outside world, he noted.
The "be among the outstanding ones" program is part of a cooperation between the Ministry of Education and KFAED which kicked off in 2010, and involves the annual selection of a number of high achieving 11th grade students who are sent on accompanied trips to see firstآhand KFAED and Kuwaiti developmental contributions and efforts.
