KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is eager to develop its tourism industry as a platform to showcase youth skill, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said on Monday.
Speaking to journalists after inaugurating the "Horeca Kuwait 2017 Exhibition", organized by consulting firm "Leaders Group", Sheikh Salman underscored plans to boost tourism in the country.
Moreover, he added that such events as the expo help buoy development plans and promote investment, which in turn, will encourage youth to be more actively involved in such endeavors.
Meanwhile, General Manager of "Leaders Group" Nabila Al-Anjeri said that the expo aims to transform Kuwait into a beguiling tourist destination, which will prove instrumental in diversifying the nation's revenue pool.
She also highlighted the meteoric growth of the culinary business, noting that the expo has attracted more than 80 nutrition and catering companies.
The three-day exhibition features a myriad of activities germane to catering, nutrition and industry.
The Ministry of Information's tourism department is concocting plans to turn Kuwait into a tourist hub, as events such as this expo are held regularly in efforts to exhibit Kuwait's touristic potential. (end) mam.nam
