IRBIL, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society on Thursday distributed 30,000 liters of white fuel to Iraqis who have been displaced from Mosul and taken up refuge in Hassan Sham camp near Irbil.
Rezkar Obaid, in charge of the shanty town, told KUNA that the society teams today delivered the white fuel to 1,500 families; 20 liters for each one.
Obaid expressed gratitude to the State of Kuwait for securing the fuel for the relocated Iraqis, at a time the northern regions are gripped with a cold wave.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration declared that number of the relocated Iraqis has exceeded 17,000 since launch of Ninawa operation in October.
Kuwait had previously delivered 30,000 liters of fuel, 300 heaters and 600 mattresses to the displaced in Al-Khazer and Hassan Sham camps since last year. The aid included 170,000 food parcels. (end) sbr.rk
