GCC, UN officials discuss developments in Yemen

RIYADH, Jan 9 (KUNA) -- GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani discussed with UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad recent developments of the situation in Yemen.
The two sides also discussed the UN envoy's efforts to resume Yemeni peace talks and to push the peace process forward in accordance with the GCC initiative, outcomes of the national dialogue, and UNSC Resolution 2216, GCC Secretariat General said in a statement Monday.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Awaishiq, GCC Assistant Secretary General for political affairs and negotiations, it mentioned. (end) yms.ma
