Turkish authorities arrest three mayors on terror-related charges - media

ANKARA, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- Turkish authorities arrested three mayors in the southeastern city of Hakkari on allegedly terrorism-related charges, the official Anadolu news agency reported Saturday.
It said police forces arrested the mayors of the towns of Cukurca, Yuksekova and Semdinli at the behest of the public prosecutor in Hakkari.
One of the mayors is Servet Tunc, member of the democratic areas party which is considered an ally to the Kurdish-dominated Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), it said.
Security authorities arrested on October 25 Gulten Kisanak, mayor of Diyarbakir, on terrorism charges.
The authorities also arrested, last month, 13 members of the opposition HDP including co-chairpersons Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag, accusing them of supporting the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). (end) rs.bs
