KUWAIT, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Center 21 for young adults with mental disabilities has opened its first workshop for professional and vocational rehabilitation.
The workshop was opened under the patronage of Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and Minister of State for Development and Planning Hind Al-Sabeeh, the Center announced in a press statement on Wednesday.
The statement pointed out that National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has sponsored the center financially as part of "its ongoing drive to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities." EQUATE Petrochemical Company is another sponsor of Center 21, the statement added.
Center 21 is the first facility of its kind in Kuwait to provide complete and sophisticated services for young adults above 21 years old.
The center's activities vary from entertainment, field trips, development courses, rehabilitation sessions in addition to development services as physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy focus skills, nutritional counseling and encouraging self-reliance and independence. (end) msa.nfm
