EU High Representative Federica Mogherini meets UN Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of UN Support Mission in Libya, Martin Kobler
BRUSSELS, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- EU High Representative Federica Mogherini met in Brussels Tuesday with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of UN Support Mission in Libya, Martin Kobler, and exchanged views on political and security situation in Libya.
According to a statement by her office tonight, Mogherini underlined the need for all actors, including the Libyan authorities and United Nations bodies, to do more to ensure the protection and assistance of vulnerable migrants inside Libya.
She updated Kobler also on the training of the Libyan Coast Guard by the EU naval Operation Sophia.
They underlined the importance of addressing the serious economic and financial crisis, and they welcomed the ongoing efforts aimed at supporting the Presidency Council's control on the economy and finances which should enable it to deliver more services to the Libyan people, added the statement.
