WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (KUNA) -- It is difficult to discern precisely what policy objective Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is advocating when it comes to the situation in Syria, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Wednesday.
"When you look at the totality of his remarks, even within the last several months, it is difficult to figure out if he knows what he is talking about and, if he does, what policy he would vow to pursue as president," Earnest told reporters during a briefing when asked about Trump.
"There are times where he has advocated indiscriminate bombing of that country," Earnest said, adding that there are other times where he has chided his opponent for being too tough on the Russians, Earnest added.
"We also know that Russia has been engaged in an effort to shore up the Assad regime in a way that makes it more difficult for us to resolve the political situation inside of Syria that we know is critical to ending the violence and chaos there," he said. (pickup previous)
