Taliban attack kills 8 Afghan border policemen

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- At least eight Afghan border policemen have been killed and three others wounded as result of attacks on their check-posts by Taliban rebels at the Torkham border gate in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, said officials on Tuesday.
Provincial Governor's spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani confirming the incident said that the insurgents stormed the security posts killing eight border police personnel and wounding three others.
The Taliban reportedly seized all the equipment at the Khaibar check post in Torkham but reinforcements were able to re-take control of the check post after few hours.
The attack by Taliban came at a time when rebels have paced up their attacks against the Afghan and foreign security forces across the country after rejecting peace dialogue offer by Afghan government. (end) sbk.mt
