GAZA, Oct 23 (KUNA) -- Palestine's Al-Falah Charitable Society, with help from a Kuwaiti philanthropist, has reopened a newly renovated mosque destroyed in the 2014 Gaza war.
In a ceremony to mark the re-opening of the mosque on Sunday, residents and renowned Palestinian religious scholars alike raised the Kuwaiti flag aloft in a token of appreciation to the Gulf country.
"The re-opening of this mosque is a testament to robust ties between Kuwait and Palestine," the Chairman of Al-Falah Charitable Society Ramadan Tanbura said in a statement to the press.
Moreover, he noted that a number of other mosques and houses in Gaza will undergo similar renovations, as he thanked Kuwait for incessant aid given to the people of Palestine.
Similarly, head of the delegation tasked with re-building the mosque Hussam Abdulaziz conveyed his gratitude for Kuwaiti charitable deeds, calling on worshippers to frequent the mosque again. (end) wab.nam
