KUWAIT, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- A senior official at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Monday said they are keen on enhancing trade cooperation with Uruguay.
The ministry's Undersecretary Khaled Al-Shamali made the statement to KUNA after a meeting with a visiting delegation from the Arab-Uruguayan chamber of integration for food security and climate change.
The delegation offered the ministry a study on issues to secure food and water among nations to face climate change, Al-Shamali added, noting that it would be of great value for modifying and redirecting certain trade activities in Kuwait.
The visit reiterates the distinguished ties between Kuwait and the South America Republic, he said.
In 2010, the two countries signed a trade agreement, Al-Shamali said.
The visit paves the way for a future meeting between the concerned bodies in both countries for further cooperation.
He expressed hope that a meeting would be soon held to make the utmost benefit from the study and to discuss the investment opportunities between the private sectors in the two countries. (end) mam.ht.amh.msa
