ANKARA, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Six Turkish soldiers were killed and seven others were injured in a booby-trapped car explosion in Hakkari city southeast of the country, said a military source Sunday.
According to Dogan News Agency, the Turkish authorities accused the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) of masterminding the attack which occurred in Semdinli town.
The PKK, listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU, resumed its attacks against Turkish targets in July of 2015 after a three-year ceasefire.
The current wave of attacks resulted in the death of around 700 Turkish military and security personnel in addition to the killing of over 6,000 PKK combatants. (end)
