Par'l Speaker "optimistic" over agreement on fuel prices

KUWAIT, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim said on Tuesday that he is "optimistic" that the two legislative bodies dealing with the issue of fuel prices will come to an agreement in their meeting on Wednesday.
In a statement to the press, Al-Ghanim said that he is honored to have met with the country's leadership earlier on Tuesday.
Moreover, he noted that he will be meeting with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh on Wednesday morning, before the two legislative bodies are due to meet.
"Through such meetings, we can overcome any obstacles facing us," the Parliament Speaker added.
He also noted that all MPs will be attending the meeting to ensure a positive outcome to the issue of the rise in fuel prices. (end) asa.nam
