Lebanon fails to elect pres. for 45th time

BEIRUT, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday delayed today's session for electing a new president for the country to September 31st, according to media sources.
The session was postponed for the 45th time due to lack of quorum, as at least 86 members of the 128-deputy parliament must be present in line with the country's constitution.
Lebanon has been without a president since May 25th, 2014, when the six-year term of former president Michel Suleiman ended. (end) mah.mt
