CAIRO, Sept 4 (KUNA) -- It is imperative to put forth stringent efforts to ensure peace and security for Arab women, Advisor of the Kuwaiti Cabinet's committee dealing with women's affairs Dr. Suaad Abdulwahab said on Sunday.
Abdulwahab made those comments in a statement to KUNA at the sidelines of a conference entitled, " Women and Achieving Peace and Security," co-organized by the Arab League and the United Nations. (UN) Moreover, Abdulwahab, who heads Kuwait's delegation to the conference, underscored its significance, saying the purpose of this conference is to investigate challenges faced by women in the Arab world.
Speaking on women in Kuwait, she said that they have made headway and procured unprecedented rights, which she described as a "good omen." Kuwaiti women have claimed numerous prominent positons and enjoy a plethora of rights, she added.
Furthermore, the Kuwaiti Cabinet's Advisor on Women's Affairs urged Arab nations to collaborate to safeguard the region in a highly tumultuous time. (end) aff.nam
