Kuwait leads Arab side in preparatory meeting for 4th Africa summit

KUWAIT, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait will lead the Arab side in the third meeting of the preparatory committee for the 4th Arabآ­Africa Summit, Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan has said.
The summit is slated for November in Malabo, capital of Equatorial Guinea.
The meeting, to be held on Monday, will review the logistic arrangements for the event made by the Arab League Secretariat and the African Union Commission (AUC), including the final drafts and documents of the summit, among them the Malabo Declaration and the work plan (2017-2019), Al-Mashaan told KUNA on Saturday.
Participants will also discuss invitation messages for the summit, promoting the event and activities to be held on the sidelines of the gathering.
The preparatory committee includes Kuwait, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, the Arab League Secretariat and the AUC, Ambassador Al-Mashaan said.
On Tuesday, the host country will organize a tour for the participants delegation to review arrangements for the summit, he added.
The senior officials of the Arab-African Partnership Coordination Committee will hold their 10th meeting on Wednesday.
In November 2013, Kuwait hosted the 3rd Arabآ­Africa Summit, inaugurated by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Up to 34 heads of state and delegations form 71 countries attended the event, themed "Partners in Development and Investment." (end) hrz.msa
