BERN, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Sunday expressed content over participating in a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of Kuwaiti-Swiss diplomatic ties.
"Decades-old historic ties between the two friendly countries have seen consensus over many different issues, supported by Switzerland's ever known neutral stance and a mutual perspective of regional and international matters in a bid to spread world peace and human rights respect," said Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled in a statement to KUNA.
"We sensed the positive role played by Switzerland in Yemen, Syria and Libya, as well as its efforts in fighting terrorism; as all these files will be mutually discussed on Monday's talks," he noted. The ceremony will be held alongside the talks tomorrow.
The relations between Switzerland and Kuwait were launched since independence of Kuwait in 1961.
The high ranking delegation accompaning the Kuwaiti chief diplomat includes CEO of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) Bader Al-Saad, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Walid Al-Khubaizi, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Acting Assistant Foreign Minister for Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's Office Affairs Ambassador Saleh Al-Loughani, Director of Operations at the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Marwan Al-Ghanim and a host of the Foreign Ministry senior officials.
