AMMAN, Aug 27 (KUNA) -- The second phase of the evacuation of civilians and gunmen from the war-ravaged Darayya town, southwest Damascus, has completed on Saturday.
The town is now clear of all kinds of arms displays and the civilians have been moved to temporary settlement location in the rural outskirts of the capital city, Syria Arab News Agency (SANA).
Nearly 700 gunmen and their family members were resettled in the northern city of Idlib after handing over their weapons to the regular troops.
The process two-day evacuation process is based on an agreement reached by the Syrian government and the militant groups on Thursday.
The deal provides for safe evacuation of nearly 3,200 people, including 800 gunmen, from the city in two batches. (pickup previous)
