9 strikes in Syria, 8 in Iraq target IS -- coalition

WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces conducted 17 strikes -- nine in Syria and eight in Iraq -- against the so-called Islamic State, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Friday.
In Syria, the strikes occurred near Al Shadaddi and Manbij, the announcement said.
In Iraq, the strikes were near Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Ramadi, Sinjar and Sultan Abdallah, the statement said. (end) rm.rk
