Bahrain signs housing agreement worth USD 395 mln

MANAMA, Aug 23 (KUNA) -- The Bahraini government signed Tuesday several agreements to execute a number of housing projects as part of the Gulf Development Program with a total sum USD 395 million.
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Bahraini Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa said in a press statement, that these projects will lead to the construction 25,000 housing units.
The official took the chance to thank Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates for their role in the Gulf Development Program, recognizing their financial support.
The Bahraini government have signed seven agreements today with Kuwaiti, Bahraini and Emirati companies with a sum of USD 293 million to execute a number of 1,247 housing units, and to supervise the construction 1,645 others included in the Gulf Development Program.
Moreover, a number of other agreements were signed for projects that are funded by UAE with a sum of USD 102 million. (end) mge.mys
