KUWAIT, July 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait, acting upon a UN request, extended Saturday the host of the Yemeni talks for another week to end on August 7, a foreign ministry official said.

Kuwait agreed to extend its host of talks due to "positive developments" between negotiators over the past two weeks, at end of which UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad tabled a document including principles of a compromise, the official said.
Ahmad, he added, then requested a one-week extension with hopes to reach a consensus agreement that restore security and stability in Yemen, thus ending the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The UN request was coupled with hopes by brotherly and friendly countries that the extension lasts for one week, said the source.
The one week will expire on August 7, noted the source, and Kuwait hopes the Yemeni parties reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.
Kuwait hosted the Yemeni talks for more than 90 days. (pickup previous) aam.bs
