Hot air balloon crashes in Texas killing 16 people

WASHINGTON, July 30 (KUNA) -- A hot air balloon caught on fire and crashed in central Texas on Saturday, killing 16 people who were on board, the local sheriff's office noted.
"The balloon was occupied and it does not appear at this time that there were any survivors of the crash," Caldwell County Sheriff Daniel Law said in a statement, cited by local media in Washington D.C. "Investigators are determining the number and the identities of victims at this time." The incident occurred in Lockhart, about 50 kilometer south of Austin. (end) ak.bs
