Arab leaders stress necessity of political solutions in Syria, Libya, Yemen

NOUAKCHOTT, July 25 (KUNA) -- Arab leaders affirmed on Monday the necessity of solving the crises in Yemen, Libya and Yemen politically, and welcomed the French initiative calling for holding an international peace conference.
This came during the Nouakchott Declaration issued by the 27th Arab League's Summit hosted by Mauritania.
The leaders welcomed the French initiative calling for holding a peace conference so as to stop Israeli settlement activities and guarantee the rights of Palestinians to establish their independent state based on the pre-June 1967 with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Declaration stressed the need to lift Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, release all Palestinian prisoners and stop aggressions on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The leaders called on the international community to implement UN resolutions pertaining to end the Israeli occupation and the withdrawal from all the occupied Arab territories, including the occupied Golan Heights and territories in southern Lebanon.
They stressed the need to devote all efforts for reaching a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the cause based on the Arab Peace Initiative, the Madrid Principles, rules of international law and UN relevant resolutions.
They affirmed their commitment to adopting the best practical means so as to combat threats and risks facing Arab national security.
This can be achieved through spreading the values of peace and moderation, and discarding extremism, sedition and hatred to upgrade Arab societies and maintain their cohesion, the Declaration said.
They stressed the necessity of enhancing bonds of relations among Arabs and overcoming differences.
According to the Declaration, the leaders called on Libyan parties to combat "terrorist" groups and rebuild the state.
On Yemen, they reiterated their support for the legitimate government represented in President Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi and continued efforts to create positive results of the UN-brokered peace talks currently hosted by Kuwait based on the UN Security Council resolutions, mainly 2216, the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, and the outcome of Yemen's national dialogue to maintain unity and territorial integrity of Yemen's institutions.
They emphasized their keenness to establish solidarity and solidarity among Arab states, support human capabilities, care for Arab scientists and pay attention to Arab workers.
The leaders expressed their hope that Syrian brothers would reach a political solution "based on preserving the unity of Syria, and safeguarding its independence and dignity of its people." They stressed the need to support Iraq to preserve its unity and territorial integrity, and to combat "terrorist" groups and liberate territories from the "terrorist" organization of the so-called Islamic State.
The Declaration said that the conferees reiterated their solidarity with Sudan in its efforts to promote peace and development, and safeguard its national sovereignty, welcoming the national dialogue and ongoing efforts pertaining to activate the Sudan initiative on Arab food security as a pillar of Arab national security.
The leaders reiterated the importance of spreading the classical Arabic and promoting it through enacting relevant legislations to maintain it.
The leaders affirmed their eagerness to develop the joint Arab action and its mechanisms, and expand its contents, speed up the implementation of the Arab integration and promote investment opportunities among Arab countries.
The summit stressed the need to find mechanisms to help Arab states suffering from poor economies and direct Arab investments in the public and private sectors to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises which target young people.
The leaders further confirmed their support for Arab and international relief efforts aiming to provide urgent aid to refugees and internally displaced persons suffering from wars and conflicts, and to develop mechanisms of Arab humanitarian and action.
They renewed their call to press Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and subject its nuclear facilities and programs to international control, calling on Arab foreign ministers to review the issues pertaining to nuclear disarmament and weapons of mass destruction, and study all available alternatives to maintain Arab national security and regional security.
