Yemeni gov't appreciates Kuwait's hosting of peace talks

NOUAKSCHOT, July 23 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdulmalek Al-Mekhlafi on Saturday highly appreciated the State of Kuwait's host of peace talks among Yemeni parties.
"We greatly appreciate the State of Kuwait's hosting of Yemeni talks," Al-Mekhlafi said in a statement to KUNA after a preparatory Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting, noting that Kuwait hosted Yemeni talks in the 1960s and 1970s.
He said the Yemeni parties were keen on the success of the UN-sponsored talks, "but you can't expect things to be as you wish them to be," as the government, Ansrallulah and the General People's Congress failed so far to achieve a solution.
He hoped the coming days would have good news that would restore peace all over Yemen and before the ultimatum set by Kuwait.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah has recently said that Kuwait set a 15-day ultimatum for the Yemeni parties to reach an agreement. (pickup previous) ms.kns.bs
