IRBIL , July 20 (KUNA) -- A new batch of relief aid has been delivered to displaced Iraqi families in Irbil, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced on Wednesday.
KRCS official Yousef Al-Miraj told KUNA that food baskets have been distributed to 850 displaced families in camps scattered across Irbil, adding that the food is adequate for a month's supply. He underscored that such aid aims to mitigate the misery these families are living in.
Moreover, Al-Miraj asserted that KRCS would remain steadfast in its aid of these displaced families, irrespective of their locations.
As part of its humanitarian campaign, KRCS, during the past year, has doled out more than 40 food baskets to displaced families in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
According to government data, more than two million displaced families are languishing in camps across the region. (end) sbr.nam
