KUWAIT, July 15 (KUNA) -- Sabah Al-Salem University City, considered as the future of education in Kuwait, will be offering world class education and facilities equipped with the most advanced learning tools.
Speaking on this occasion, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa told KUNA Friday that this great project is one of the leading educational projects in the region, adding that Kuwait was in need for it because it was the only country in the region, if not in the world, with only one public university and that is Kuwait University (KU).
Al-Essa added that the construction on the main campus is expected to finish by year 2019 where it can accommodate around 40,000 students with only the college of medicine remaining under construction.
Sabah Al-Salem University City is named after the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. It will include 13 faculties with three extra sites for future faculties.
Sabah Al-Salem University City is located in Al-Shdadiya area, south-west of Kuwait City. Approximately 6 million square meters plot was allocated to the new University City. (end) mrf.mys
