Security personnel play vital role in facing threats: official

KUWAIT, June 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti security personnel must be fully prepared to deal with any security-threatening situations, in the light of the current local and regional developments, said Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Fahad.
This came in a press release by the Department of Security Media and Public Relations during Al-Fahad's chairmanship of a meeting of senior ministry officials on Monday.
"We are heading towards a time of hardships that requires unity of all sectors", said Al-Fahad, adding that "security personnel have a huge responsibility to safeguard the country's security and stability." Meanwhile, he thanked security members for their efforts to control traffic movement and ensure the safety of mosques during the holy month of Ramadan.
The meeting was called for by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, after Kuwait has announced on Sunday arresting terrorist groups belonging to the so-called Islamic State (IS), during military operations executed inside and outside of Kuwait.(end) hmd.abd.ag
