U.S. drone strike kills 6 militants in E. Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, May 29 (KUNA) -- At least six fighters belonging to so-called Islamic State (IS) were killed in a United States-led drone strike in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, said officials on Sunday.
Provincial police spokesman, Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told media that the unmanned aircraft struck a hideout of the militants in KangariKando locality in the Haska Mena district.
He further said that the target was accurately hit by the drone on the basis of intelligence information. He claimed that a local commander of the so-called Islamic States, Nasim Khan was also among the killed. The drone attack came at a time when U.S. and foreign forces have intensified their air strikes against the militant group across Afghanistan threatening the fighters not to join the group.
