Kuwaiti Min. tours centers for the disabled in Tunisia

TUNIS, May 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's visiting Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs Hend Al-Sabeeh, on Friday, made field trips to rehabilitation centers for people with special needs, with the view to examine the methods Tunisia follows in the rehabilitation process.
In a statement to KUNA and Kuwait TV, she said "it is possible that we in Kuwait could draw from the experiences of Tunisia in running such rehabilitation centers." She noted with appreciation that these centers deal with the disabled in all age groups, with the ultimate goal of coopting them and assimilating them into society.
Further, she said the centers provided the disabled with living quarters and services that matched the degree of physical disability suffered by them.
She added that Kuwait's ministry of labor and social affairs will open communication channels with trainers in these centers where Kuwaiti candidates would receive their training in the care of the disabled. (Pick up previous) khs.ajs
