G-7 to promote fiscal, monetary policies, structural reforms - Abe

TOKYO, May 27 (KUNA) -- Leaders of the Group of Seven (G-7) industrialized nations shared the view that the global economy faces serious risks, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Friday.
"We had thorough discussions and recognized that the world economy is facing major risks. We agreed to cooperatively promote three arrows - fiscal policy, monetary policy and structural reforms," Abe told a press conference after the two-day G-7 summit in central Japan.
"The G-7 will use all policy tools to boost global demand," said Abe, who chaired the annual gathering, stressing the importance of increasing investment by both public and private sectors. Abe also said the leaders from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US reaffirmed their cooperation in countering terrorism and violent extremism and securing freedom of navigation.
