PKK militants kill Turkish soldier in N. East Turkey

ANKARA, May 6 (KUNA) -- Some members belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fired a missile, killing a Turkish soldier in Giresun city, northeastern of Turkey, Turkish authorities announced on Friday.
This is the second attack on the city, Governor Hassan Karahan said in a statement, adding that Turkish security forces are launching military campaigns now so as to clear the area of PKK militants.
The clashes between the two sides since last July have killed so far 430 Turkish security personnel and up to 3,800 PKK militants inside Turkey and north of Iraq. (end) rs.mmj.hm
