Zakat House donates KD 100,000 in relief aid to Syrians in Aleppo

KUWAIT, May 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's charitable organization Zakat House announced on Tuesday it would donate relief aid to embattled Syrians in the city of Aleppo in the amount of KD 100,000.
This is in effect an emergency aid package for the inhabitants of that city and is part of Zakat House's relief aid efforts directed at assisting the Syrian people to cope with terrible humanitarian conditions they are currently facing as war rages on in Aleppo, said Zakat House deputy director for media affairs Kawther Al-Musallam, in a press statement today.
She said her organization goes to great lengths to extend a helping hand to all needy people anywhere in the world, be they stricken by natural or man-instigated disasters.
Today's announcement of the donation to people of Aleppo is part of Zakat House's campaign, dubbed Kuwait Responds, to help the people in that city by providing them with basic food staples and medicine, she said.
She stressed that Zakat House is currently receiving donations from people in Kuwait with which to help the beleaguered people of Aleppo. (end) amn.ajs
