MOSCOW, April 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Institute for Scientic Research (KISR) signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the Russian Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis (TIPS RAS) on Friday.
The agreement was signed by KISR Director General Dr. Sameera Ahmad Sayyed Omar and Director of TIPS RAS Salambek Khadzhiev.
This agreement sets the path for cooperation between the two institutes in projects with economic and social benefits, Omar said in a statement to KUNA.
She added that a joint committee would be formed to assess the cooperation agreement on a yearly basis in order to get the best of the deal.
Omar said KISR and TIPS RAS would develop cooperation in development of technologies used in production of heavy fuel oil, carbon dioxide storage and transforming gas accompanying oil to high-octane fuel in addition to separation of gas and liquid.
The two institutes, she added, would cooperate on nano technology and renewable energy like solar power.
Omar said cooperation in water domain would take place through integrated management of conventional and non-conventional water resources, sea water desalination, water management in general and water pollution. (end) as.bs
