BAGHDAD, April 11 (KUNA) -- French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has expressed his country's readiness for arming and training Iraqi army.
This came during a meeting between Le Drian and Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi on Monday.
The French minister renewed that his country supports Iraq in its war on terror, said a statement by the Iraqi cabinet.
There is a good future of Iraq after Al-Abadi became Prime Minister, the statement quoted Le Drian as saying.
Meanwhile, Al-Abadi stressed the importance of cooperation between Iraq and the international coalition to face the so-called Islamic State (IS), indicating that the IS poses a grave threat to the region and the whole world.
"IS poses a continued danger even after liberating Mosul," he said.
During a meeting earlier today, the French official told Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Selim al-Jabouri that France is interested in following up what is going on in Iraq, especially role of the parliament in installing democracy. (end) ahh.hm
