UN Special Representative to Syria Staffan de Mistura
BEIRUT, April 11 (KUNA) -- UN Special Representative to Syria Staffan de Mistura left from Beirut to Tehran on Monday for talks with Iranian officials ahead of UN-sponsored talks between the Syrian government and opposition in Geneva on Wednesday.
De Mistura travelled to Beirut by car from neighboring Syria, where he had arrived yesterday and held talks with officials on the Geneva talks, official news agency reported.
He met in Damascus earlier in the day with Syrian Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Muallem.
International officials following the Syrian conflict file are using Rafiq Al-Hariri airport in Beirut during their visits to and from Syria. (end)
