Cruz makes clean sweep of Colorado delegates

WASHINGTON, April 10 (KUNA) -- Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has now officially won all 34 delegates up for grabs in Colorado, when it was announced late Saturday that he won all 13 delegates at the state convention, in addition to the 21 delegates he collected over the past week at congressional district meetings.
Colorado has neither a caucus nor a primary, and instead holds a drawn-out multi-step process to select its GOP delegates.
"Utah, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and tonightآ’s incredible results in Colorado have proven this: Republicans are uniting behind our campaign," the Cruz campaign said in a statement.
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump remains the party frontrunner with 732 delegates, while Ted Cruz is in second place with 532 delegates, including Saturday's sweep.
1,237 delegates are needed to win the Republican nomination. Next up is the New York primary on April 19, where 95 delegates are up for grabs and Trump is expected to win big in his home state. (end) ys.tg
