KUWAIT, April 4 (KUNA) -- President of Kuwait University (KU) Dr. Hussein Ahmad Al-Ansari said today's world is marked by accelerated scientific and technological innovations that require more efforts by students to gain knowledge.
"KU spares no effort to create proper conditions for the Kuwaiti students, foster their talents, motivate their creativity and make them better able to contribute to the progress of their country," he said Monday evening.
Dr. Al-Ansari made the comments in a speech on behalf of Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Essa to a ceremony to honor the KU students who excelled in the 2014-2015 semester.
The function, patronized by Minister Al-Essa, gathered deans of the various colleges of the University at Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Theater.
Dr. Al-Ansari praised the honored students for their excellence and perseverance in gaining the specialized knowledge, noting that scientific knowledge is the key to bright future.
He also highlighted the role of family in backing the state's educational policy and encouraging students to rise to prominence.
The speakers at the ceremony include chairperson of the higher organizing committee of the ceremony Bashayer Al-Asfour, and representative of the honored students Anan Al-Rifa'ei.
A scientific exhibition on historical heritage, sponsored by Kuwait Finance House, was opened following the event. (end) mrf.gb
