Cameroon thanks Kuwait for support

CAIRO, March 24 (KUNA) -- Cameroonian Minister of Finance Alamine Ousmane Mey has voiced gratitude to the State of Kuwait for funding development ventures in his country and backing its efforts against terrorism.
Minister Mey, speaking during a meeting with a visiting Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, headed by MP Saud Al-Heraiji, held in the capital Yaounde, expressed appreciation for the visit and confidence it would lead to significant boost in the bilateral ties.
Despite security challenges, Cameroon has accomplished a six percent growth rate, as compared to three percent inflation and five percent deficit in the trade balance.
The minister, citing his president, expressed confidence that the country by 2035 would turn into a developed nation due to sustainable development and trimming unemployment.
He called in this respect on Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to invest in his country and take advantage of taxing and custom privileges and facilities. For his part, MP Al-Heraiji affirmed the visit aimed at boosting the bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation, MPs Ahmad Al-Azmi, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Mohammad Marwi Al-Hadiya, and Nigeria-based Kuwaiti non-resident ambassador to the Cameroon, Abdulaziz Al-Sharrah. (end) ms.rk
