Kuwait ranks 4th in double-trap in Qatar's Int'l tourney

DOHA, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti champion Ahmad Al-Afasi on Monday came fourth in double-trap competition held as part of Qatar's international shooting tournament.
The double-trap competition was won by the Italian, Marco Innocenti. Second came his fellow citizen, Daniele Di Spigno, while the Russian, Vasily Mosin, ranked third.
Innocenti, after the crowning, said in a press statement that the competition was very heated, lauding Qatar's successful organization of the international tournament.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti referee, Muath Al-Rashed, expressed satisfaction at the Kuwaiti performance in this category, facing world's top champions in the game and coming out among the top winners in a neck-and-neck contest.
The nine-day championship got underway on Thursday. In addition to the Kuwaiti team of top shooters, there 280 competitors involved in the contests, representing 37 Gulf, Arab and foreign countries. (end) nnd.rk
