Oman calls for avoiding the fule of regional tension

TEHRAN, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Oman called on Saturday for avoiding all practices that fuel tension and crises, and to stop using military means to solve conflicts in the region.
Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi, during a meeting in Tehran with Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, called for learning lessons from past incidents and avoid the fuel of tension in the region.
Bin Alawi, meanwhile, said Iran and Oman enjoyed strategic location, scientific, technical and industrial potentials enabling them to promote economic cooperation.
Shamkhani said Iran's top political priorities was to deepen "constructive cooperation" with neighboring countries.
He called for seizing the opportunities arising following the lifting of economic sanctions on Iran, official media reported.
Bin Alawi arrived in Tehran earlier in the day on a two-day visit. (end) mw.bs
