Kuwait's 16th camel race begins tomorrow

KUWAIT, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- The 16th Kuwait camel race will begin on Sunday with the participation of camel owners from Kuwait, the GCC, and the Arab region.
Some 125 rounds will be held during the five-day race which will be held at Fahad Al-Ahmad racetrack in Juwaihel area.
The opening event tomorrow will feature a 21-round race with a sideline opening of a cultural village depicting the heritage of Bedouin people and the desert tradition.
Speaking to KUNA, the race's general coordinator Hussein Al-Dawas affirmed that the race was an integral part of preserving the tradition and culture of the Kuwaiti people.
He thanked the Kuwaiti leadership for the continued sponsorship of the race which is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year. (end) fsa.gta
