Egyptian Pres. pins high hopes on visit of Chinese peer

CAIRO, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi said Sunday his country attaches great importance to the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and is looking forward to benefitting from the huge potentials of cooperation with China.
During his meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Eng. Sherif Ismail and a number of ministers, President Al-Sisi reviewed several aspects of the cooperation with China, particularly the economic development and experience sharing, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said in a press release.
The President stressed the importance of ensuring that the documents being negotiated with China serve the mutual interests in a balanced way.
He noted that there are huge potentials of investment cooperation given the planned national mega projects in Egypt which provide promising opportunities for Chinese investors, Ambassador Youssef revealed.
The meeting also discussed Egypt's participation in the Chinese initiative to build the Silk Road Economic Belt which aims to bring together China, Central Asia, Russia and Europe, thus lining China with the Arabian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea through Central Asia and the Indian Ocean, the spokesman added.
