Kuwait partakes in Gulf theatre festival on disabled in Oman

MUSCAT, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- Fourth GCC Theatre Festival for Persons with Disabilities continued its events and activities on Friday for the sixth day in a row.
The State of Kuwait is taking part in the seven-day event with a play authored by Yehia Abdel-Ridha on injustice, greediness, selfishness and other defects inside the society.
In a statement to KUNA on Friday, Abdel-Ridha said the festival shows interest in caring for disabled people and integrating them into the society, adding they have varied disabilities and needs.
"Hosting such an event helps us discover their capabilities," he said, adding persons with disabilities made brilliant performance on stage which was highly attracted by the audience.
He thanked Sultanate of Oman for its hospitality and efforts exerted to host this Gulf event in which GCC countries are taking part.
He affirmed that GCC member states support and care for persons with disabilities. The festival is an opportunity to show capabilities and talents of disabled people on stage. (end) ahr.hm
