BAGHDAD, Dec 16 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter arrived in Iraq on Wednesday on a hitherto undeclared mission in the nation, the official Iraqi television reported.
The television said Carter met with American military commanders immediately after arrival in the country.
US President Barack Obama has declared that he has tasked Ashton to tour the Middle East and assess military action against terrorist groups. (end)
